A new poll by the Associated Press finds that only 35 percent of Americans believe global warming is happening and that human activity is contributing to it.
The poll was conducted by Gallup on behalf of the American Public Policy Research Institute and The Hill.
The poll found that the public has a much harder time believing the government has a plan to deal with the issue than it does believing the weather is changing.
Only 36 percent of the public believes the government is doing a good job of addressing climate change, while 50 percent believe they’re doing a bad job.
Only 23 percent of respondents believe that there is a plan in place to deal a worsening climate.
The AP poll was commissioned by the Institute for American Values, an organization focused on issues related to the environment.
